Exporting your mobile key deactivates the vault, meaning it can no longer be use to send transactions with Theya. If you need to recover a mobile key on a new phone see: Restoring a Mobile Key Backup From iCloud Keychain.

Exporting Your Private Key

  • Navigate to your Mobile Key Vault

  • Form the vault homepage, select Key Management > Export Mobile Key

    • Read the warning carefully

Secure & Save The Encrypted Document

  • Theya will generate an encrypted document containing your mobile vault's private key.

  • Provide authentication via FaceID or your phone's passcode and choose a robust password to protect the file.

  • Confirm the export and deactivation of the vault

    • You can now save this encrypted file.

  • Save the exported file to your iCloud Keychain or locally on your phone.

    • This document will include your private key. Transfer it to your computer for easy copy/pasting into Sparrow.

Import The Mobile Private Key To Sparrow

  • Download and launch Sparrow Wallet

  • Set up a new wallet by going to File > New Wallet

    • You are creating a 'standard' singlesig software wallet.

  • Import Private Key

    • Ensure when you paste the private key, it is a one complete string without spaces.

  • Once created, you can mange the funds on this wallet using Sparrow.

It's highly advised to move any meaningful funds to a new wallet where the private key has not been exposed at all.
