A mobile key is one stored on your mobile device. This key option provides convenience, leveraging the dedicated chip designed to safeguard personal and security data on your phone.

It is highly advised that you backup your mobile key using iCloud Keychain.

Setting Up A Mobile Key With Theya

Your mobile key can function as one key in a multisig vault, or as a single-key vault (hot wallet) on your phone. Here's how:

  • Select ‘Create New Vault’ and select vault type.

Single-Key Mobile Vault

  • For a single key mobile vault, simply select ‘This Phone’ and create using FaceID or your phone’s passcode.

    • It is highly advised that you backup your mobile key using iCloud Keychain.

  • Once completed, your mobile vault is ready to receive funds.

Mobile Key In Multisig Vault

  • When creating up a multisig vault, Theya will first add your recovery key.

  • Then select ‘This Phone’ as your first key and create using FaceID or your phone’s passcode (following the creation of this key, decide whether or not you want to back it up using iCloud Keychain). You can now continue creating your multisig vault by setting up your second key.

    • If adding a cosigner to hold your second key, they will have the option to set up a mobile key as well.
